The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Schurz, NV, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become advocates and educators for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Our program provides comprehensive organic food system education and promotes accessibility by eliminating tuition fees. Selected Fellows engage in a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a year of impactful community action. Through hands-on training, Fellows work on market-style farms, lead educational sessions in innovative health care, maintain community gardens, and develop vital distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. Additionally, they support farmers' markets, facilitate community food coalition activities, and mentor incoming Fellows, contributing to a thriving local food ecosystem.
