About Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Sparks, NV is dedicated to fostering healthy nutritional habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children from birth to five years old. Through our comprehensive approach, we offer free client eligibility screenings to assess individual nutritional needs and medical histories, ensuring participants receive the support they require. Eligible families benefit not only from access to monthly supplemental nutritious foods, including fresh produce, dairy, and infant formula, but also from referrals to essential health services, such as immunizations and prenatal care. Our program promotes breastfeeding through education and support, and provides valuable nutrition education on a variety of topics to empower families in their food choices. Importantly, WIC services are accessible regardless of immigration status, allowing every eligible individual the opportunity to benefit without fear of compromising their residency. The WIC program is here to guide families toward healthier futures, one step at a time.
