About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Tonopah, NV, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates and educators in creating a fair and sustainable food system. Through hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, participants engage in organic food system education and develop vital skills to support community agriculture. Our program offers invaluable experiences such as growing and distributing diverse crops, maintaining school gardens, and teaching food and ecological literacy within local educational frameworks. We prioritize accessibility by offering this transformative fellowship at no tuition cost, fostering a community where Fellows can collaborate with partners to enhance food equity, support farmers markets, and launch initiatives that improve access to healthy foods. Selected candidates will embark on a six-month immersive learning journey, followed by a Community Action Year, where they will apply their newfound knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits, making a meaningful impact in their communities. Applications are accepted until March for a May through October experience.
