About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Valmy, NV, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Our program provides a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in comprehensive organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm Campus. By offering tuition-free training, we strive to ensure accessibility for all passionate individuals wishing to make a difference. Over a transformative six months, Fellows immerse themselves in hands-on learning, from growing and distributing diverse crops on a market-style farm to implementing innovative educational sessions for the community. Through meaningful partnerships, they maintain school and community gardens, integrate food and ecological literacy into educational activities, support farmers markets, and develop distribution channels that increase access to nutritious foods. Following this experiential learning, our Fellows enter a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to apply their skills and knowledge. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
