About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Wadsworth, NV, empowers aspiring leaders through hands-on training aimed at fostering a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program is open to all, eliminating tuition to ensure accessibility. Each Fellow engages in a dynamic six-month residency at our farm campus, where they receive comprehensive organic food system education and develop practical skills. In partnership with local non-profits, Fellows lead initiatives such as growing diversified crops, implementing health education sessions, managing community gardens, and enhancing food access through local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs. The journey culminates in a Community Action Year, allowing participants to apply their knowledge and serve as mentors. Applications for this impactful fellowship are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
