About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in West Wendover, NV, empowers individuals to become advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. This unique program provides comprehensive training in organic food systems, ensuring accessibility by offering the Fellowship without tuition fees. Throughout the six-month immersive experience at Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, selected Fellows engage in hands-on education while collaborating with community partners to cultivate diverse crops, create and implement innovative health education sessions, and manage school and community gardens. Fellows also play a vital role in enhancing food literacy and improving access to healthy foods through farmers markets and community coalitions. Following their intensive training, participants dedicate a Community Action Year to applying their skills in partnership with regional nonprofit organizations, fostering a sustainable future for food systems. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May to October each year.
