SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education & Obesity Prevention is dedicated to enhancing health and preventing diet-related diseases among the SNAP population in the Bronx, NY. Through engaging nutrition education and obesity prevention services funded by the USDA's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), we strive to empower our community. Our skilled SNAP-Ed educators create targeted programs for school-age children, adult caregivers, and older adults aged 60 and up. We focus on promoting the consumption of nutrient-dense, low-fat foods while helping to reduce intake of sugary, low-nutrient options. Our mission includes increasing physical activity, enhancing food management and preparation skills, and improving access to affordable, healthy food choices.
