The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cushing, OK, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders committed to creating a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and resilient. Through immersive training and hands-on experience, we empower Fellows to become advocates and educators in the realm of organic food systems. Our program emphasizes accessibility by eliminating tuition fees, allowing participants to focus entirely on their experiential learning. Over six months at the scenic Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in vital initiatives such as cultivating diverse crops, orchestrating community education sessions, maintaining school gardens, and enhancing food literacy among students. Following this transformative fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and foster food security through initiatives like farmers markets and healthy food distribution. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May to October, ensuring a comprehensive approach to food assistance and advocacy.
