The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Marlow, OK, at the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a fair, sustainable food system. Through our no-cost, immersive training program, we empower selected Fellows to learn about organic agriculture and ecological literacy, enabling them to educate communities about healthy eating and environmental stewardship. Over six enriching months at the Allegheny Farm, participants engage in hands-on projects, such as growing diverse crops, managing community gardens, and coordinating food distribution initiatives. The experience also includes a Community Action Year, where Fellows collaborate with regional non-profit organizations to implement vital food assistance programs and promote access to fresh, healthy foods. Applications for the Fellowship are open until March each year, with the program running from May to October, ensuring that aspiring food advocates gain the practical skills and experience needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
