The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in McAlester, OK, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. This transformative program offers a six-month immersive experience at a residential campus where selected Fellows engage in hands-on training in organic food systems. Through practical education, they become advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Fellows gain valuable skills by cultivating diverse crops, supporting community gardens, and leading educational initiatives that promote food and ecological literacy. Our mission emphasizes accessibility, as we charge no tuition, ensuring that passionate individuals can pursue this opportunity. After their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to expand access to healthy foods, support farmers markets, and foster community food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May to October, providing a rich pathway for those committed to making a meaningful impact in their communities.
