Nestled on 47 acres of rolling hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Laureate Eating Disorders Program provides specialized treatment for women and adolescent girls struggling with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and other eating disorders. The program offers multiple levels of care including detox, residential, day treatment, and intensive outpatient services. Treatment incorporates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), art therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family counseling, and group therapy, with separate groups for adolescents and adults. Clients receive individual therapy twice weekly and family therapy once a week. The program's therapists and dietitians address underlying stressors that contribute to eating disorders, with clients spending up to 8 hours daily with their therapist. Progress is monitored through weight restoration and the development of sustainable diet and exercise plans. The program also features enrichment opportunities including cooking classes and off-campus excursions. As part of Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital within the Saint Francis Health System, the eating disorders program maintains a distinct identity from the main campus program, which also serves men. The facility's culinary staff are experienced in accommodating various dietary preferences, particularly kosher and halal requirements. Clients can track their treatment progress during and after care through the MyChart system. The program accepts numerous insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Community Care, Medicare, Medicaid, and many others, making quality care accessible to a broad range of clients.
