The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Exeter, RI is dedicated to cultivating advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This transformative program empowers selected Fellows with practical training and hands-on experience in organic food systems, as well as the skills necessary to teach and promote food and ecological literacy within communities. Over a six-month residential study at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in activities like growing and distributing diversified crops, supporting local farmers markets, and managing school and community gardens. Following this immersive training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year where they apply their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits, enhancing access to healthy foods and fostering community involvement.
