The Emergency Shelter Program in Little Compton, RI, provides a nurturing and secure environment for families with children seeking temporary shelter. Our facility accommodates six families and includes shared amenities such as a kitchen, dining area, playground, and learning center, fostering a sense of community amidst shared challenges. We offer essential emergency shelter services, including crisis intervention, life-skills training, parenting programs, financial literacy education, GED preparation, job readiness workshops, and mental health support. Our commitment extends beyond immediate shelter, as we provide former residents with ongoing case management and referrals to local resources for up to six months. Lucy’s Hearth is dedicated to guiding families toward stability and self-sufficiency, helping them to avoid future homelessness through a comprehensive suite of support services. To access our program, families need to complete a telephone screening with United Way 2-1-1 and respond promptly to our opening notifications.
