About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Narragansett, RI, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for an equitable food system. We empower our Fellows through hands-on training and education in organic farming practices at our Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA. Our unique fellowship program emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice in the food sector, offering no tuition fees to enhance accessibility. Throughout their six-month experiential learning journey, fellows engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, running community gardens, and implementing educational sessions that promote food and ecological literacy in schools. After their residency, they enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to further their impact in food assistance and community health initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
