About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Peace Dale, RI, is dedicated to fostering the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. By sponsoring and training fellows, we aim to cultivate advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers comprehensive organic food system education, empowering participants to grow and distribute diversified crops on a market-style farm, maintain school and community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Our fellows also engage in innovative healthcare solutions, support local farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods through direct-to-consumer programs. Following a transformative six-month farm residency, fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their knowledge in real-world settings. We believe in making this Fellowship accessible for all, which is why we do not charge tuition. Applications are accepted until March each year for the experience that typically runs from May to October.
