About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Saunderstown, RI, is dedicated to training and empowering advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. Through hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in six months of immersive learning focused on organic food systems, food literacy, and environmental stewardship. This fellowship emphasizes accessibility by sponsoring participants without charging tuition, ensuring that all can partake in essential education and advocacy. Fellows collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, spearhead educational initiatives in innovative healthcare, and enhance community gardens. By fostering farmers markets and creating distribution channels for healthy food access, the fellowship actively supports local food coalitions and nurtures the next generation of food system leaders. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
