About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Slocum, RI, we are dedicated to fostering a sustainable food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic viability. Our program empowers selected Fellows through comprehensive, hands-on training, enabling them to serve as educators and advocates for innovative food solutions. Participants engage in a six-month residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn about organic farming, food literacy, and community engagement. They gain practical experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational initiatives, and supporting local food systems. Through collaboration with regional non-profits, Fellows also embark on a Community Action Year to apply their skills and knowledge in real-world settings, enhancing access to fresh, healthy food throughout the community. By eliminating tuition costs, we ensure that our Fellowship remains accessible to passionate individuals committed to transforming local food systems.
