About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Wood River Junction, RI, is dedicated to nurturing advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through our comprehensive program, we empower selected Fellows with hands-on training and practical education in organic farming and food systems. Our Fellowship is tuition-free to ensure accessibility for all aspiring leaders in food advocacy. During their six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows cultivate a profound understanding of sustainable agriculture, engage in community gardens, and support local food initiatives like farmers markets. After completing their training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year where they apply their knowledge with regional non-profit organizations. The program is designed for those passionate about improving food access and integrating food and ecological literacy into their communities, making a lasting impact on the local food landscape. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship experience occurring from May to October.
