About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Wyoming, RI, is committed to nurturing a new generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. This transformative program empowers selected Fellows through hands-on experience and education in organic food systems, fostering their roles as educators and advocates for a more equitable food landscape. Our Fellows engage in diverse activities including growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, implementing health education initiatives, and maintaining community gardens. By integrating food and ecological literacy into educational programs and supporting local farmers markets, we strive to increase access to healthy foods and strengthen community food coalitions. The fellowship is designed to be accessible, with no tuition fees, and includes a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May to October each year.
