About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Aiken, SC, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship nurtures dedicated individuals to become advocates and educators for a just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a unique opportunity to learn about organic food systems without the burden of tuition, promoting accessibility for all. Participants engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where they will grow and distribute a variety of crops, run educational sessions in innovative health care, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy within local schools. The program also supports initiatives like farmers markets and community food coalitions, empowering fellows to create impactful distribution channels for increasing access to healthy foods.
