About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Anderson, SC, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators who are committed to a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a unique six-month experiential program at Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning and community action, empowering them to implement innovative solutions for food access and sustainability. This Fellowship offers comprehensive education in organic food systems, enabling participants to grow and distribute diverse crops, run educational workshops, maintain community gardens, and promote food literacy in schools. By supporting local farmers markets and forging connections between food producers and consumers, our Fellows play a crucial role in fostering healthier communities. Importantly, we strive to make this opportunity accessible by not charging tuition, benefitting those passionate about making a change in the food landscape. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences typically occurring from May to October.
