About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Beaufort, SC, is dedicated to fostering leaders who advocate for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. We provide an immersive, six-month experiential learning opportunity at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected Fellows receive comprehensive training in organic food systems, community engagement, and ecological literacy. Our program emphasizes accessibility by not charging tuition, allowing a diverse group of participants to grow their skills and knowledge. Throughout the Fellowship, individuals will engage with local partners to cultivate and distribute a variety of crops, support community gardens, enhance food literacy in educational settings, and strengthen local food networks, including farmers markets. After the initial training period, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their learning directly to community food initiatives. We invite passionate individuals committed to sustainable food practices to apply by March each year for an enriching experience that runs from May to October.
