About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bishopville, SC, we are dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who are passionate about transforming our food systems into models of social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our comprehensive and accessible training program, selected Fellows engage in an immersive six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, where they learn organic food system practices. With no tuition fees, we ensure that our Fellowship is open to all aspiring advocates. Our program empowers participants to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, Fellows play a crucial role in supporting farmers markets, developing distribution channels for healthy food access, and mentoring future cohorts. We invite those interested to apply by March for a transformative experience running from May to October, as they take actionable steps towards fostering sustainable food systems in their communities.
