About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Boiling Springs, SC, offers a transformative opportunity for aspiring advocates of a just food system. With a commitment to social, environmental, and economic equity, our fellowship empowers participants through hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. We eliminate tuition costs to ensure that anyone passionate about food systems can take part. Our program features comprehensive education on organic farming and food systems, where Fellows engage in a variety of enriching activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, hosting educational sessions on innovative healthcare, and supporting community gardens. Additionally, our initiatives aim to enhance food literacy in schools, boost farmers' markets, and create accessible channels for healthy food distribution. After an immersive six-month residential experience, our Fellows embark on a Community Action Year to apply their skills with regional non-profit partners. Applications are open until March each year, with the program running from May to October, inviting you to join our mission of fostering a sustainable and equitable food landscape.
