The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cheraw, SC, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a food system that values social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers tuition-free, hands-on education in organic food systems, allowing Fellows to engage in meaningful community initiatives. Participants gain experience in diverse areas such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, implementing educational sessions for innovative healthcare, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. Throughout their six-month immersive residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows develop vital skills before embarking on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to ensure increased access to healthy food and support for farmers markets. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience taking place from May to October, providing a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in the community.
