About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Chesnee, SC, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems through hands-on education and community engagement. We proudly sponsor and train Fellows who are passionate about advocating for a food system that upholds social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers comprehensive organic food system education, enabling participants to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education initiatives, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local schools. Additionally, we support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs while fostering coalition activities that strengthen access to healthy foods. Selected Fellows embark on a transformative six-month, experiential journey at our Allegheny Farm Campus, culminating in a Community Action Year where they apply their training in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations. We believe in accessibility, which is why we do not charge tuition, ensuring that our Fellowship is open to all dedicated individuals who wish to make a positive impact on their communities. Applications for this life-changing experience are due in March, with the program running from May to October each year.
