The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Clover, SC, cultivates a new generation of advocates and educators dedicated to creating a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. This immersive program, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, empowers Fellows through a tuition-free, six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm. Here, they receive hands-on training in organic agriculture, engage in community initiatives, and develop critical skills for enhancing food access and ecological literacy. Fellows work on projects that may include growing and distributing diverse crops, leading educational sessions on innovative healthcare, maintaining community gardens, and supporting local farmers markets. After their residency, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their knowledge and drive meaningful change. Aspiring Fellows are encouraged to apply by March each year for this impactful opportunity to immerse themselves in sustainable food systems from May to October.
