Participants, known as Fellows, engage in a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where they delve into organic food system education. The Fellowship promotes inclusivity by offering its program without tuition fees, making it accessible to all. Fellows collaborate with regional partners to grow diverse crops, implement innovative health care sessions, maintain community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy in educational settings. Additionally, they support farmers markets, develop distribution channels for healthy food access, and actively mentor the next generation of advocates.
