The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Florence, SC, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. Through comprehensive training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our Fellows are equipped to become passionate advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. We believe that access to education should be equitable, which is why our program is offered tuition-free. Our Fellows engage in hands-on organic food system education while collaborating with local partners to grow diversified crops, maintain community gardens, implement innovative health care education, and support farmers markets. Over six months, they immerse themselves in experiential learning and then transition into a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits to increase access to healthy foods. We invite those interested to apply by March of the application year, with the Fellowship experience taking place from May to October.
