The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Gaston, SC, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders who advocate for an equitable and sustainable food system. Through a unique blend of hands-on training and community outreach, Fellows engage in organic food system education that emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our inclusive program enables selected participants to spend six immersive months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they partner with local nonprofits to enhance food access and promote healthy eating. Participants learn to cultivate and distribute diversified crops, facilitate educational sessions on innovative healthcare practices, and integrate food and ecological literacy into schools and community gardens. We are committed to making this Fellowship accessible, with no tuition fees, thereby empowering individuals to drive impactful change in their communities. Applications are accepted annually until March, with sessions running from May to October.
