The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Georgetown, SC, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators committed to creating a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This empowering program offers organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring it remains accessible to all. Selected Fellows engage in hands-on, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops while implementing community-oriented initiatives. They facilitate educational sessions focused on innovative health care, maintain community and school gardens, and develop programs that enhance food and ecological literacy. Fellows also play vital roles in supporting local farmers markets and increasing access to healthy foods through strategic distribution channels. Following their intensive six-month training, participants enter a Community Action Year, applying their skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations to make a tangible impact in their communities. Applications for this transformative fellowship are accepted until March of the application year, with the experience running from May to October.
