About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Goose Creek, SC, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders in sustainable food systems through comprehensive education and hands-on training. This unique program empowers Fellows to become advocates for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically responsible. Through organic food system education, participants engage in growing and distributing diverse crops on market-style farms and implementing innovative health care educational sessions. Additionally, Fellows contribute to community initiatives by maintaining school and community gardens, teaching food and ecological literacy, supporting farmers markets, and developing distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. Over a transformative six-month experiential residency at AMI's Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year with regional non-profits, selected applicants can make a meaningful difference. The Fellowship promotes accessibility by charging no tuition, inviting applicants to submit their applications by March each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
