The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hartsville, SC, is dedicated to cultivating leaders who champion a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. This unique fellowship empowers participants through comprehensive organic food system education, allowing them to grow and distribute diverse crops, maintain community and school gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Selected Fellows immerse themselves for six months in hands-on, experiential learning on the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional non-profits to promote access to healthy foods and support local farmers markets. With no tuition costs, the program emphasizes accessibility, ensuring that passionate individuals have the opportunity to become advocates for sustainable practices, community engagement, and improved food systems. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the experience spanning from May to October.
