About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hopkins, SC, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Through our innovative program, we provide Fellows with hands-on organic food system education and empower them to teach and engage their communities. Our curriculum includes crucial aspects of social, environmental, and economic justice, focusing on growing and distributing diversified crops on market-style farms, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. We prioritize accessibility, ensuring that no tuition is charged for our Fellowship, which spans six months of experiential learning followed by a Community Action Year where Fellows collaborate with local non-profits. This dynamic approach not only enhances food access but also supports community coalitions and fosters mentorship for future leaders in the food movement. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences typically running from May to October.
