The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Ladson, SC, is a dynamic initiative by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, focused on empowering families and individuals with vital nutrition education. Our hands-on program covers essential topics, including diet quality, physical activity, food safety, and effective food resource management, designed to enhance food security. Participants can engage in a comprehensive 10-session program, tailored to their unique needs, where they will gain practical skills such as planning nutritious meals, preparing healthy recipes, saving money on groceries, and understanding food safety. Our interactive lessons can be delivered in group settings or one-on-one, making learning accessible for everyone. In addition to obtaining a Certificate of Achievement, adults, children, and families with limited financial means, eligible for Food Assistance programs like WIC and SNAP, receive the support needed to lead healthier lives.
