The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ladson, SC, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through a comprehensive, tuition-free training program, we empower participants to engage in organic food system education and hands-on community initiatives. Our Fellows learn to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement health-focused educational sessions, maintain school and community gardens, and integrate essential food and ecological literacy into educational settings. They also contribute to local farmers markets, create pathways for accessing healthy foods, and support community food coalition efforts. The fellowship includes a six-month experiential residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where Fellows apply their insights in collaboration with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March, with sessions running from May to October, fostering a deep commitment to community-driven food solutions.
