About Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Moncks Corner, SC, is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of families through practical nutrition education offered by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service. Our program focuses on four vital areas: diet quality and physical activity, food resource management, food safety, and food security, ensuring participants gain the skills they need to lead healthier lives. EFNEP provides a comprehensive 10-session interactive curriculum tailored to individual needs, with lessons available in both group and one-on-one formats. Participants learn how to prepare nutritious meals, save money on groceries, practice food safety, and increase physical activity, culminating in a Certificate of Achievement to celebrate their commitment. We serve a diverse audience, including children, youth, and adults from families with limited financial resources, all of whom may also be eligible for Food Assistance programs like WIC and SNAP. Join us in building a healthier community through effective nutrition education.
