The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Moncks Corner, SC, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a food system that is just, sustainable, and community-oriented. By providing comprehensive education in organic food systems without charging tuition, this fellowship promotes accessibility and inclusivity. Participants engage in hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement innovative health care educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and enhance food and ecological literacy within schools. Throughout the program, Fellows are actively involved in supporting farmers markets, collaborating with community food coalitions, and developing efficient distribution channels to ensure access to healthy foods. After a transformative six months of training, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits to create lasting change in the food landscape. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience taking place from May to October.
