GroceryRx Food Prescription Program, based in Moncks Corner, SC, is an innovative initiative by Lowcountry Street Grocery that combines healthcare and nutrition to enhance community wellness. Our program is designed to provide food assistance through comprehensive nutrition education and access to fresh produce. Participants benefit from weekly virtual and in-person classes led by a Registered Dietitian, focusing on managing chronic health conditions through informed dietary choices. Every other week, we deliver fresh fruits, vegetables, and eggs directly to participants' homes, fostering a culture of health and sustainability. This 12-week program is offered at no cost to participants, while their insurance may cover nutrition education when applicable, making healthy living accessible and achievable for all in our community.
