About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Murrells Inlet, SC, empowers aspiring educators and advocates to champion a food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellowship offers comprehensive, tuition-free training that equips Fellows with essential skills in organic food systems education. Participants engage in hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm, where they grow and distribute diverse crops, maintain community gardens, and lead innovative health-focused educational sessions. By integrating food and ecological literacy into school curricula and supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, our Fellows work to increase access to healthy foods and foster community resilience. Each selected Fellow embarks on a transformative six-month journey, followed by a Community Action Year, during which they apply their training in collaboration with local non-profit organizations. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March each year, with the program taking place from May to October.
