The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in North Augusta, SC, is dedicated to empowering individuals and families with the knowledge and skills needed to make healthier food choices. Offered by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture in partnership with Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, EFNEP provides hands-on, practical nutrition education designed for those with limited financial resources, including participants of Food Assistance programs like WIC and SNAP. Our program encompasses four essential areas: diet quality and physical activity, food resource management, food safety, and food security. Through interactive group and one-on-one sessions, participants receive personalized nutrition education tailored to their unique needs and can earn a Certificate of Achievement upon completion. Adult members learn to plan quick, nutritious meals, enhance their cooking skills with tasty recipes, practice food safety, and discover effective ways to save on food costs while increasing physical activity.
