GroceryRx Food Prescription Program, based in North Charleston, SC, is a unique initiative designed to enhance community wellness through holistic nutrition support. Operated by Lowcountry Street Grocery, we partner with local clinics and organizations to merge healthcare, nutrition education, and food access seamlessly. Our program offers weekly virtual and in-person classes led by a Registered Dietitian, focusing on how individuals can manage chronic health conditions through informed dietary choices. Every two weeks, participants receive convenient grocery deliveries of fresh fruits, vegetables, and eggs, ensuring their homes are stocked with nutritious options. As a 12-week commitment, there are currently no out-of-pocket costs for participants, and we aim to maximize health benefits by billing insurance for nutrition education when applicable.
