About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Orangeburg, SC, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on education and mentorship, our Fellowship provides a transformative six-month experience on the Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected participants engage in organic farming practices and learn to grow and distribute a diverse range of crops. Our Fellows not only gain knowledge but also actively contribute to their communities by implementing educational health initiatives, maintaining gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy in local schools. They also support farmers markets and develop innovative distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods for all. Importantly, we remove financial barriers by offering this Fellowship without tuition, ensuring that everyone can participate. Applications are open until March each year for a program that runs from May to October, enabling passionate individuals to make a tangible difference in their communities through sustainable food practices.
