The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Pelzer, SC, is dedicated to empowering families through practical nutrition education that fosters lasting health and well-being. Offered collaboratively by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, EFNEP's mission is to enhance diet quality, promote physical activity, and ensure food safety for participants, particularly those with limited financial resources. Our hands-on program features ten interactive sessions tailored to meet individual needs, including lessons on meal planning, budgeting, and cooking nutritious recipes. By providing group and one-on-one support, we help families improve their food resource management and overall food security, while participants earn a Certificate of Achievement upon completion.
