About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Rock Hill, SC, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators who will promote a just and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive training and hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education that empowers them to make meaningful contributions to their communities. This program offers a unique opportunity to work on a market-style farm, educate on health and nutrition, cultivate school and community gardens, and support local farmers' markets. The Fellowship emphasizes accessibility by not charging tuition, ensuring that a diverse range of individuals can participate and thrive. After an immersive six-month residency on the farm, Fellows enter a Community Action Year where they apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profits, advocating for increased access to healthy foods and fostering food literacy in their neighborhoods. Applications are accepted until March each year for a transformative experience running from May to October.
