The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Saluda, SC, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a food system that emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This fellowship is grounded in the belief that education should be accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition for our comprehensive Farm and Food Study program. Over a six-month experiential training period at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows gain hands-on experience in organic food systems and work to grow and distribute diversified crops. They are also actively involved in community initiatives, which may include managing school gardens, implementing educational programs that promote food and ecological literacy, supporting local farmers markets, and fostering community food coalitions. During their Community Action Year, Fellows apply their knowledge and skills in partnership with regional non-profit organizations, driving impactful change in their communities. Applications are accepted until March of each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
