The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Seneca, SC, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Through our tuition-free program, we provide essential organic food system education, allowing Fellows to engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. Over six months, participants immerse themselves in diverse activities including growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Our Fellows also gain invaluable experience in supporting farmers markets and developing distribution channels to enhance access to healthy food. Following their fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, where they put their knowledge into practice by collaborating with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year for the program running from May to October.
