About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Spartanburg, SC, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for and create a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Through our fellowship, participants receive comprehensive education in organic food systems, enabling them to grow and distribute diverse crops, maintain community gardens, and implement innovative educational programs that enhance food and ecological literacy. We strive to increase access to healthy foods by supporting farmer's markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives while mentoring future fellows. Our program is designed to be accessible, with no tuition fees, allowing us to focus on fostering impactful community engagement and practical solutions. Selected fellows spend six months in immersive, hands-on training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are due in March each year for an enriching experience running from May to October.
