The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Summerville, SC, nurtures passionate individuals through comprehensive training in sustainable food systems. This hands-on program, offered at the renowned Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, provides vital education on organic practices, enabling participants to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education sessions, and maintain community gardens. With a focus on food and ecological literacy, Fellows are instrumental in supporting farmers markets and developing distribution networks for increased access to healthy food. Our initiative is tuition-free to promote accessibility, and selected participants engage in a six-month immersive experience, followed by a Community Action Year working alongside regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, fostering a new generation of leaders dedicated to creating equitable food systems.
