The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Sumter, SC, is dedicated to empowering individuals and families with essential nutrition education to improve their well-being. As an initiative of the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, EFNEP focuses on four key areas: enhancing diet quality and physical activity, effective food resource management, ensuring food safety, and promoting food security. Our hands-on, research-based program includes a series of ten interactive sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant, whether in group or individual formats. Participants leave with practical skills that enable them to plan quick and healthy meals, prepare nutritious recipes, maintain food safety, and manage their grocery budgets effectively. Designed for a broad audience, including children, youth, adults, and families with limited financial resources eligible for food assistance programs like WIC and SNAP, EFNEP is committed to fostering healthier lifestyles and building food security in our community.
